2010 MATE International ROV Competition

MATE Pacific Northwest Regional Challenge




We were pleased with our 2009 ROV performance (except for the gripper breaking).
We finished 4th in the Puget Sound Regionals in our first attempt.
This year, we want to evolve our ROV and stragegically improve weak
systems and tune the design for this years mission.


January 28

Science night at Echo Lake Elementary


January 22

Hook up new ROV to old tether and controls. Take for test drive in Lake Washington. Durable, quick, agile, dives, breeches, success!


January 12

Mount the motors and dust off last years controls and tether.

 

January 13

Begin cannibalization of last years ROV, starting with the motors.


January 12-13

Frame final assembly and gluing.
Motor mount fabrication.


January 4

Start on updated control electronics

 

January 1

Complete assembly of the top frame tubes


November 30

Cut and prefit pieces for the new frame and fill top frame tubes with special foam


November 27

Review the 2010 mission specs
